Abstract

Through its Pelindo Creative Hub program, Pelindo organized an integrated training initiative aimed at strengthening soft skills and hard skills while fostering character development among the youth. LPPM STIAMAK Barunawati Surabaya actively participated in this initiative as part of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi commitment, with faculty members contributing to module development, participant mentoring, and learning evaluation. To assess the training's effectiveness, participants took a pre-test before the program began and a post-test after the entire series concluded. The pre-test was designed to gauge participants' baseline abilities specifically regarding Microsoft Office proficiency and understanding of fundamental workplace skills while the post-test measured improvements in knowledge, skills, and understanding following the training. The curriculum covered leadership, communication, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), content creation, basic culinary skills, Emotional and Spiritual Quotient (ESQ), and barista skills. Training in Microsoft Office and content creation focused on enhancing digital literacy, with outcomes evaluated quantitatively by comparing pre-test and post-test scores. Leadership, communication, and ESQ modules were evaluated through a combination of written tests, observation, and active participation, whereas basic culinary and barista training were assessed through hands-on practice and performance demonstrations. Comparisons between pre-test and post-test results revealed significant improvements in participants knowledge and skills, while also reflecting heightened motivation and a greater willingness to learn.
